The cats' theatre of Yuri Kuklachyov
The unique theatre of cats is located in Moscow. It is situated in the prestigious region of the capital of Russia at Kutuzovskiy Prospect and it is named "The Cats' House". It has been created by a great Russian clown Yuri Kuklachyov whose story is as amazing and incredible as everything he does at the circus stage.
The future holder of the "Silver Clown" award in Monte-Carlo and of the Golden Crown of Clowns for humane treatment of animals - Yuri Kuklachyov - was not admitted to the circus academy. "You have no talent, you have nothing in common with the circus!" He failed to enter the academy for six times, and only the seventh one was successful. The first Kuklachyov's own act "The cat and the cook" was a real sensation. All circus trainers of the world knew that cats could not be trained. That is why the world was amazed and impressed how the animals obeyed to the Soviet clown. Kuklachyov became a nationwide favourite at his homeland and the golden reserve of all international tours of the famous Soviet circus. After breakdown of the USSR Kuklachyov was invited to England but he could not take his tailed friends with him. So, he caught and schooled dozens of cats at the English scrapyards! And again it was an incredible success. And only his family and friends knew what was the price of the spectators' laughter, joy and love for Kuklachyov. In a new documentary Yuri Kuklachyov for the first time reveals the secrets of his work with cats, explains the staging of his famous acts and tells the dramatic story of the Cat's House. He tries to teach children to believe in their dreams and that anyone may become a magician, and that the most important word in the Universe is LOVE. That is what personifies all the artists of the Kuklachyov's theatre - his favourite and enigmatic cats.
