«Vremya» versus «Voice of America»

This documentary film illuminates the 'last survivor' of Soviet propaganda, the unemployed American Joseph Mauri, whose incredible story came to light only recently.

In 1986 Mauri was the central character in a film by Genrikh Borovik called «The Fifth Avenue' man», which described the hardships of the capitalist way of life. No one could have guessed that, having agreed to appear in this film, Mauri would think up his own big game, at which he beat two super-powers. And it was all the fault of love, caught up in the gristmill of the Cold War.
