«Spacemen. Life after fame»
The film examines the fate of the foreign astronauts who flew missions on Soviet ships, after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Unknown facts and the dramatic history of 'political outer space' are recounted by the heroes of a bygone age, when being an astronaut meant being a national symbol. And so, the first Afghan astronaut who was close to the last President of the communist Democratic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Najibullah was forced to emigrate to Germany after the president's execution. And his double fought for ten years with the Northern Alliance, and now in the new Kabul is the head of Afghanistan's air force. First French astronaut Jean-Loup Chretien moved to America and adopted a Russian girl. East Germany's first astronaut was dethroned and stripped of the title Germany's First Astronaut. And the fate of Czechoslovakia's first astronaut was similarly complex, after both his country and the USSR ceased to exist. The film included: East Germany's first astronaut Sigmund Jaehn, Czechoslovakia's first astronaut Vladimir Remek, Mongolia's first astronaut Gurragchaa, France's first astronaut Jean-Loup Chretien, Afghanistan's first astronaut Abdulahad Mommand and his double, Dahouran. And for the first time on Russian television - Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the Moon, just a few minutes after Niel Armstrong.
