«Prisoner of the Caucasus. Sergey Bodrov Jr.»

The media called Sergey Bodrov Jr. a 'hero of our time' and a symbol of modern Russian youth. His onscreen character Danila Bagrov became a cult classic, and is associated with the Russia of the late 90s (from the films «Brother» and «Brother-2») and his character as a swimmer in «East-West» with the post-war Soviet Union.

How did a man trained as a historian become first a popular television presenter (he worked on the prime-time programme «Vzglyad»), and then an ultra-popular actor? He never dreamt about fame and indeed didn't even want to think about it - he just acted in films, and didn't even consider it his life's work. And he acted so well, that many professional actors had grounds to be jealous. Each role became a hit, each film attracted theaters full of moviegoers.

The first film in Sergey's acting career was one of his father's, director Sergey Bodrov, "Prisoner of the Caucasus" (1996), which was shot in North Caucasus. And it was there, in North Caucasus, that his life was cut short - he was working at the time on his own project, as director.

Sergey Bodrov-juniour died in 2002 in the North Ossetia, when on the night of September 20 his group was buried beneath a landslide in the Karmadon Ravine. With him, more than 10 people were lost without a trace...

In the film, Sergey's colleagues Tatiana Dogileva, Viktor Sukhorukov, Oleg Menchikov, Sandrinne Bonnaire and others share their recollections about the actor.
